Finca La Roja is located in one of the regions of Chiapas recognized as the cradle of cocoa cultivated for thousands of years. The farm was established about a hundred years ago by Don Moisés Muguerza Gutiérrez, with a plantation of 500 hectares of white Creole cocoa. Due to its altitude and volcanic soils, the plantation is one of the best for producing the renowned "Cacao Fino de Aroma".
The Mexican cocoa from Finca la Rioja, located in Cacahotán, within the Soconusco region, Chiapas, was rated as one of the 50 best in the world by the Cocoa of Excellence contest.
